Ever wanted to attend the Oscars? To be honest, we all have. And while you might not get a seat next to Tom Hanks, you’ll be a star for a night at the 22nd Annual Governor’s Awards for Arts & Culture gala.
The Governor’s Awards for Arts & Culture - Michigan’s highest arts honor - celebrates the arts in Michigan. The awards, established 22 years ago by Concerned Citizens for the Arts of Michigan, recognize excellence from throughout the state.
Winners are selected in ten categories: International Achievement, Michigan Artist, Civic Leader, Arts Advocate, Arts Education Organization, Arts Educator, Non-profit Organization (under 1 million), Non-profit Organization (over 1 million), Business Honor Roll, and Non-profit Cultural Leader.
Plan to be there as ArtServe Michigan unveils the “Guvvy” - the art world’s answer to the Oscar - in a star-studded ceremony that only Michigan’s creative community could produce. For a list of finalists and to read more about the complete celebration, visit artservemichigan.org.
