Michigan’s Green Efforts Continue

Across the state, citizens and businesses alike continue their campaign to put the G in Roy G. Biv. Here’s a rundown of the latest efforts to make Michigan a little greener. - In Beverly Hills, a group of elementary students have raised their “Michigan Green School” flag, choosing bikes over buses and pledging to protect the environment through conservation and recycling.

From Lake Michigan to Livingston County, read on to learn about three companies following the lead of these youngsters.

Midland’s Dow Corning is investing in new technology to reduce its total emissions by 75 percent.

A Howell-based homebuilder is training a new group of “green builders,” certifying homes as energy efficient and environmentally sustainable.

A new line of energy-efficient lighting is the next project by EarthTronics Michigan of Muskegon. Their first product will be a florescent “Earth Bulb.”
