Demographer Confirms Michigan Brain Drain Myth

Brain Drain MythToday’s Detroit Free Press discusses the recent testimony to lawmakers by state demographer Ken Darga. Here, Darga explained that “media perpetuates myths about Michigan’s population.” While it’s true that some young people choose to relocate, an equal number become new residents. In fact, “from 2000 to 2004, more people with college degrees moved into Michigan than left.”
