Wireless YpsiNow available in Ypsilanti: “free broadband Internet access with the mission of bridging the digital divide.” Opening the world of technology to all, 17 local businesses have joined to cover their downtown with free WiFi.

After completing a first round of coverage, Wireless Ypsi turns its attention to Depot Town with future plans to extend the network into city neighborhoods. And, says founder and resident Steve Pierce, with a benefit to citizens, businesses and visitors alike, “this sends the message that Ypsilanti gets it.”

The first node of Wireless Ypsi http://wireless.ypsi.com in Depot Town came up this week. Thanks to the Sidetrack we have our first node. Our hope it to have all of Depot Town covered by the end of the month.

Cheers!
