Shel Israel Finds Social Media at Ford and GM

Shel Israel visits DetroitA social media pioneer and co-author of Naked Conversations, Shel Israel and FastCompany.TV visited Detroit in search of good news about the auto industry. More specifically, Israel came to witness first hand the use of social media at Ford and GM.

There was no use telling these redundant skeptics that I had come in search of good news. The Detroit-in-trouble story has been done and done again and is old news. I was here to see what was going on in social media at Ford & GM. My best story was to be able to report on a great turnaround taking place. Being the first to report that–if true–would make me a bit of prophet.

Good news about the Detroit auto industry? No way! Really?

Read about Shel’s visit and see what he found. And keep an eye out for the Fast Company feature at FastCompany.TV.

Side note/challenge to GM and Ford social media teams: If you’re really listening to the conversations taking place in the blogosphere, let’s see if you can find this one. The first member of either team to comment on this article will prove to me and our readers who is listening and who is not.
