Get Me Downtown: From Ann Arbor to Detroit

by Bradley Gula

April 8th, 2008 in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Events, Lifestyle

SkatesGet Me Downtown is a new program bringing people from Ann Arbor to an event in Downtown Detroit. A small admission is paid for a round-trip ride on a chartered bus. Although there’s a set destination, “tripsters are welcome to explore and do their own thing.”

The next “Bus to the D” will take travelers to The Detroit Derby Girls Championship Double Header at the Masonic Temple on May 10. The organizers suggest that great music and “an awesome atmosphere” will surely be found. There’s additional info available on the Get Me Downtown website, and a mailing list to easily receive each itinerary straight to your inbox.

There’s no regular commitment. If a particular event suits your tastes, hop aboard. If another month you find yourself busy, there’ll be another adventure departing Ann Arbor soon.

A fun and original idea, support during one of the first few trips will only allow the program to grow. Visit getmedowntown.com to learn more.
