Happy Earth Day, Michigan!

Earth DayToday marks the annual celebration of Earth Day, inspiring “awareness of and appreciation for the Earth’s environment.” But here in Michigan, supporting events are not limited to April 22; they’re taking place all week long throughout cities across the state.

Bay County Health Department is offering free e-Waste collection through Friday. Ann Arbor and Flint Best Buy locations are rewarding gifts cards to the first 100 recyclers this Saturday. And the Indigenous Earth Day Summit runs through tomorrow at Northern Michigan University.

Teen Job Fair at Dow Diamond

Dow DiamondMid Michigan Business Notebook reports of a teen job fair at Dow Diamond on March 26. Over 30 employers will descend on Midland, offering positions to people ages 16-19 in volunteer centers, construction, the service industry and more. A great way for teens to learn about the skills of today’s market, there is also an opportunity for a first summer job.

For those of all ages, the Mid-Michigan Job Fair will visit the same Dow Diamond on April 16. Registered employers include Consumers Energy, Ikon Office Solutions, Pampered Chef and Verizon Wireless. There’s a complete list available online.
