Mid Michigan Business Notebook reports of a teen job fair at Dow Diamond on March 26. Over 30 employers will descend on Midland, offering positions to people ages 16-19 in volunteer centers, construction, the service industry and more. A great way for teens to learn about the skills of today’s market, there is also an opportunity for a first summer job.
For those of all ages, the Mid-Michigan Job Fair will visit the same Dow Diamond on April 16. Registered employers include Consumers Energy, Ikon Office Solutions, Pampered Chef and Verizon Wireless. There’s a complete list available online.
On Tuesday, Governor Granholm announced that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is assisting six Michigan companies with expansions and supporting a brownfield project. Altogether, the new projects are expected to create 2,225 jobs and infuse Michigan communities with $248.4 million in capital investment. [ Read more ]
