Teen Job Fair at Dow Diamond

Dow DiamondMid Michigan Business Notebook reports of a teen job fair at Dow Diamond on March 26. Over 30 employers will descend on Midland, offering positions to people ages 16-19 in volunteer centers, construction, the service industry and more. A great way for teens to learn about the skills of today’s market, there is also an opportunity for a first summer job.

For those of all ages, the Mid-Michigan Job Fair will visit the same Dow Diamond on April 16. Registered employers include Consumers Energy, Ikon Office Solutions, Pampered Chef and Verizon Wireless. There’s a complete list available online.

MEDC Helps Create More than 2,200 New Jobs

Ground breakingOn Tuesday, Governor Granholm announced that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is assisting six Michigan companies with expansions and supporting a brownfield project. Young peopleAmerica’s Promise Alliance presents its 2008 list of the 100 Best Communities for Young People. Three are located in Michigan: Greater Midland, Sanilac County and perennial winner Marquette. Here’s an interactive map of all 100 “wonderful places for youth to live and grow up.”
